Forefathers of Mexican Stoner Rock
Sounds from Mictlan es un compilado de rock stoner mexicano. El sitio web Stoner Rock México, comandado por la rocker Gaby de la O e Iván Nieblas, “El Patas”, acaba de lanzar el primer volumen de una serie de recopilaciones que difundirán, principalmente, bandas mexicanas de stoner.
En la historia del rock mexicano, se han perdido muchos materiales trascendentales, así que Sounds from Mictlan es un renovado y fresco intento por propiciar los registros musicales de este género. De entre las bandas que forman esta entrega se encuentran La Orquesta de Animales, Los Fernanduccis, Drugster Monster, The Sweet Leaf, El Diablo y Occulta, agrupación chilanga que inició con Jenny Bombo (Ultrasónicas), Gaby de la O (Dagger, The Sweet Leaf) y Danny (Alta Traición), éstas dos últimas, relevadas ahora por otras dos chicas, Isterika y Verónica Venom.
En Sounds from Mictlan aparecen bandas de Guadalajara, Monterrey y el Distrito Federal, aunque por ahí Los Fernanduccis, con Gaby de la O y Alejandra Espino como vocalistas, estrechan relaciones internacionales con Holanda. En la compilación hay material inédito y una que otra rola perdida de 34-D, una banda de hardcore de los noventas integrada por El Warpig, de Lost Acapulco, Iván Nieblas, Fernando Benítez y Gerardo Cervantes, que “pertenece al cassette homónimo que ganó como mejor disco de metal de la revista Nuestro Rock en 1994″. Cabe destacar que entre los músicos que figuran en este compilado, dos fueron ganadores de los Indie-O Music Awards 2008.
Es una recopilación de rolas de rock gruexxxo y de lo más representativo y chingón del Stoner Rock en México Country. you know what I say man...pollito little chicken,ultra brite y tus corn flakes, new wave you way, tu wey and why the rito...?
